About us
We are a registered charity was established in 1986, initially to help a major restoration of the roof and interior of Holy Innocents. It has continued to support projects to conserve the church for everyone who can appreciate the outstanding qualities of this unique and beautiful building. Over the intervening years the Friends have contributed over £75,000 towards repair and improvement projects.
The Friends has no religious associations. It is solely focussed on ensuring that the building is maintained for all who recognise the uplifting and priceless character of the building.
Sir John Betjeman described Holy Innocents as ”the most complete Victorian church in the country” Simon Jenkins similarly considered this Grade 1 Listed Building to be “one of the best one hundred churches in England.”
